PRIVACY POLICY Effective: May 1, 2022

KidPick (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values our users’ (“user” or “you”) privacy. This Privacy policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and preserve information about you when you visit our website kidpick.me as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application associated with or connected to the Site (collectively, the “Site”). Please take the time to thoroughly read this privacy policy. Please do not visit the site if you do not agree to the terms of this privacy policy.

When you use these services, you will provide us with some information. As such, we aim to be transparent about the data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the tools we provide you with to view, amend, and remove your information.

That is why we have created this Privacy policy. That is why we have attempted to write it in a manner that is devoid of the legalese that frequently obscures these contracts. Of course, if you have any other concerns concerning our Privacy Policy, please contact us.

Information We Collect

There are three basic categories of information we collect:

  • Information you provide.
  • Information we get when you use our services.
  • Information we get from third parties.

Here’s a little more detail on each of these categories.

Information You Provide

We collect information about you when you engage with our services. Naturally, you will also furnish us with whatever information you transmit to us via our services. Bear in mind that individuals who read your material can always download or duplicate it. Thus, the same common sense that applies to the internet in general also applies to KidPick: Do not transmit or share messages or information that you would not want someone to save or share.

When you contact customer support or engage with us in any other way, we will gather whatever information you voluntarily provide or that is necessary to resolve your inquiry.

If you ever decide to discontinue using KidPick, you can simply request that your account be deleted. Additionally, we’ll destroy the majority of the information we’ve acquired on you after a period of inactivity—but don’t worry, we’ll attempt to contact you first!

Bear in mind that, while our systems are designed to automate our deletion processes, we cannot guarantee that deletion will occur within a certain timeframe. Legal requirements may require us to retain your data, and we may need to suspend our deletion practices if we receive a valid legal process requesting that we preserve content if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms of Service violations, or if our automated systems flag your account or content created by you for abuse or other Terms of Service violations. Finally, for a limited amount of time or as required by law, we may preserve certain information in backup.

Control Over Your Information

We aim to give you control over your information, which is why we provide the following tools.

Access to, correction of, and portability of records. You can view and modify the majority of your account’s basic information from inside our applications. Because we value your privacy, we will verify your identity or request more information before granting you access to or updating your personal information. Additionally, we may deny your request to view or amend your personal information for a variety of reasons, including if the request would jeopardize the privacy of other users or is illegal.

Revocation of authorizations. Generally, if you permit us to use your information, you may revoke that permission by changing the settings in the app or on your device, if your device supports such choices. Of course, if you do so, certain services may become inoperable.

Access, erasure, correction, and portability

You may exercise your rights of access, erasure, correction, and portability as mentioned above in the section under “Control Over Your Information.”

Justifications for the Use of Your Information

Your nation permits us to use your personal information only under particular circumstances. These are referred to as “legal basis,” and we normally rely on one of four of them:

Appropriate interest. We may use your information if we have a genuine interest in doing so. For instance, we need to use your information to deliver and enhance our services, which include safeguarding your account, providing customer assistance, and assisting you in discovering material that we believe you’ll enjoy. A critical point to remember about legitimate interest is that our interests do not outweigh your right to privacy. As a result, we rely on legitimate interest only when we believe our use of your data does not significantly impact your privacy, is expected by you, or there is a compelling reason to do so.

Consent. In certain instances, we will request your agreement to use your information for specified reasons. If we do, we will ensure that you can cancel your consent via our services or your device’s permissions. Even if we are not relying on your agreement to use your information, we may ask for permission to access some types of data, such as contacts and location.

Legal compulsion. We may be obliged to use your personal information to comply with the law, such as in response to legitimate legal processes or to protect our users. Under some circumstances, our policy is to notify KidPickers when we receive a legal process requesting their account information.

Your Right to Complain

You have the right to object to the way your information is used by us. With several categories of data, we’ve given you the option of simply deleting it if you no longer want us to process it. For other forms of data, we’ve given you the option of completely removing the function.

Transfers International

We may collect, transport, store, and process your personal information in the United States and other countries outside of the country in which you live. Whenever we disclose information on EU users outside the EU, we ensure that an appropriate channel for data transfer is in place.

Residents of California

If you live in California, you are protected by California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). These rights are detailed in our California Privacy Notice; please review it.

Children

Our services are meant for — and geared toward — those above the age of 13. That is why we never intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Additionally, we may restrict how we collect, use, and retain certain information about EU users aged 13 to 16. This may imply that we are unable to deliver some features to these users in some situations. If we are required to rely on permission as a legal basis for processing your information and your nation requires parental approval, we may collect and use your information with your parent’s consent.

Modifications to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy policy at any time. However, when we do, we will notify you in some way. Occasionally, we’ll notify you by updating the date at the top of our Privacy Policy, which is accessible via our website and mobile application. In other instances, we may give you extra notice (for example, by including a statement on the homepages of our websites or by sending you an in-app message)
